In this tutorial, you will learn how to turn on the SmartBoard TV, change the display to show your computer screen, and how to open the Whiteboard App for writing notes. You may notice when you turn on the SmartBoard that you are unable to control the computer using the mouse. Here’s how to get the computer working on the SmartBoard and open a blank white board screen.
How to Show the Computer on the SmartBoard
Step 1: Turn on the SmartBoard using the SmartBoard remote control, if it is not already turned on.
NOTE: If the SmartBoard is not turned on, the computer monitor will appear white.
Step 2: If the SmartBoard Home Screen appears instead of the computer screen, you will need to go up to the SmartBoard and tap on the Input icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Next, you will select the HDMI 2 thumbnail from the input screen. Afterward, you will be able to to use the computer and mouse at the instructor’s computer station as usual.
How to Open the Whiteboard App on the SmartBoard
Step 1: Click on the Home button located on the bottom right corner of the SmartBoard.
Step 2: Tap on the Whiteboard thumbnail on the SmartBoard Home screen.
TECH TIP: Instead of using the Whiteboard App, you could also use blank slides in PowerPoint.
Change the Background of the White Board
If you would like to change the background of the default white board, you can use the choices such as lined paper background found on the WhiteBoard app ribbon at the bottom of the screen.
