Information Literacy Instruction

The goal of information literacy instruction is to develop students’ research readiness and critical information literacy skills. Information literacy is defined by the Association of College and Research Libraries (2000) as the ability to recognize when information is needed and to find, evaluate, and effectively use said information to solve problems.

Information Literacy instruction at MHC consists of the following core areas:

  • Introductory Research Skills
  • Advanced Research Skills
  • Citation and Referencing Support
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property
  • Custom instruction is available upon request
