A Program Review is an examination of how effectively a program is working, as part of the ongoing pursuit of excellence in achievement and quality of programming at Medicine Hat College. We can help you prepare for your program review by refining program learning outcomes and developing curriculum maps.
Learning outcomes describe what students are expected to have learned or achieved. They usually describe what students will be capable of doing, or what evidence will be provided to substantiate learning.
They clarify the program’s purpose for current and potential students, and instructors to improve communication, shared expectations and program coherence. (Ryerson)
Curriculum Mapping is a visual approach to depicting where outcomes are taught and assessed in a program. Creating and analyzing a curriculum map reveals patterns otherwise difficult to see. (Ryerson)
